I have an Armasight Orion. I noticed 2 caps on the right side opposite the windage knob and battery receptacle. Are these for a video cable?

Does anyone have experience on how well the scope keeps its zero after it's removed and reinstalled on a rifle. It's so big and bulky it would be nice not to have to keep it on the rifle all the time

Asked by: Jbeeker
I have removed and replaced my orion several times. Each time it was on the money. However, the same does not apply if you place it on a different rifle. Then it's advisable to check the zero either by boresight or firing at a target at a set range.

How do you sight in a night vision scope? Is the front cover pinhole safe in daylight hours?

Asked by: Jlucas45
yes you may be able to attempt the try to sight in thru the peep hole on the lens cap cover. But we highly suggest sighting in during dawn/dusk hours.

Can these sights be used during daylight?

Asked by: InterestedOne
NV units may be operated only with the lens cap on during daytime hours. Exposing the unit to direct light will damage the tube. there is a small pin-hole on NV units objective lense cover to limit any direct daylight into the unit. It is very important that you do not operate the unit during day hours with the end cap removed. We recommend not using the NV units during daylight to keep the image clear and to not harm the lifespan of the scope
