I had the chance to use an Armasight Nemesis 4X Gen2+ QS for a varmint control project. The Nemesis provided the perfect solution for optics, due to its Gen 2+ night vision technology and its durable construction. I mounted the Nemesis to a suppressed.17 HMR using the standard picatinny rail. Though the scope itself was almost as large as the rifle, there was no problem seating it comfortably and securely to the gun. Zeroing the Nemesis was very easy to do during the day with the lens covering and I was able to achieve a ½ inch grouping. It was also the only time that I needed to adjust the sight throughout the entirety of the project, even though it spent a lot of time being shoulder carried or racked in a 4x4. The month long project took place in an open environment with little to no light shining from the nearby suburban areas. All shots on targets were within 50-60 yards but the sight allowed clear vision to about 100-120 yards. I really appreciated being able to see the target background clearly at this range so I could make safer shots compared to what a spotlight can show. The sight preformed fantastically ,crisply showing each target making target specie identification faster than usual. I found that using the Nemesis to identify rather than a spot light, allowed the target to be unaware of my presence for a longer observation period. But I think the most impressive feature is that the Nemesis performed very well with moving targets. There was no lag time while following a target or vision flares if the crosshair passed lights in the target background. Overall I was very impressed with the quality and performance of the Nemesis and would consider using it again in future projects.
